Staff and Committee
Meet the staff and committee of Child Evangelism Fellowship Midland BasinSTAFF

LaDawnia M. Scott, Director
I was born and raised in Midland, TX, and a graduate of Midland Lee, class of 1994. I am also proud to be a United States Army veteran. My husband, William J. Scott, is currently on staff at Adult Teen Challenge in Midland. I am a mother of 4 with 5 stepchildren, and 6 grandbabies that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
I was brought up to love God and His people, and I gave my life to Him at a very early age. That isn’t to say that I have not had my struggles or that I didn’t find myself in places or situations that I should not have been in… But God! Today, I am sold out to God who is both Savior and Lord of my life, and my heart’s desire is to teach others to sell out to Him as well. It is the BEST decision I have ever made or will ever make!
I am looking forward to partnering with you as part of CEF Midland Basin as we strive to reach Every Child, in Every Nation, Every Day with the Good News of the Kingdom of God.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” Num. 6:24-26

Neville Peyton, Ministry Coordinator
I chose to be a part of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF)of West Texas, Midland Basin Chapter because my years in the classroom as an educator have shown me how deeply children need guidance, encouragement, and hope. Being able to share the message of salvation with them means the world to me, and inviting them to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior brings the greatest joy and fulfillment. Through CEF, I’m able to combine my lifelong passion for teaching with my calling to share God’s love—knowing that even one child’s heart changed for eternity makes every effort worthwhile.
LOCAL COMMITTEE

Pastor Billy Ashley, Chairman
I am grateful to God for the privilege of serving on the committee of the Midland Basin Chapter of CEF. It has been my joy to serve on a committee that (1) loves God; (2) has faith in and obeys His word; (3) has a love for the children of God. After attending two (2) informational meetings and observing the GNC in action at Fannin Elementary, we have been working to spread the Gospel to children in Midland and in Midland ISD.
To see children accept Christ’s salvation in their lives is a joy indescribable. We have a work to do, and we must keep our hearts and minds stayed on reaching God’s children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ…
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:58

Rhonda Salazar, Treasurer
Rhonda was raised in Midland and moved to the Ft. Worth area to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. While there she became involved in the ministries to children at the church she attended. She had a desire to also reach the children in her neighborhood with the Gospel. That led to her hearing about CEF Good News Clubs. She moved back to Midland in 2012 and has seen God move in great and mighty ways; using His people to start and grow the CEF Midland Basin Chapter.
“…for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:27

Angie Aron, Secretary
My name is Angie Aron, and I am a proud Midland native. I accepted Jesus in the third grade. I have devoted my career to serving children with special needs and have had the honor of spending 18 years as a campus principal in Midland ISD. Since my teenage years, I have also been deeply involved in ministry, working with children and youth from elementary through high school. I am currently serving as a children’s ministry pastor.
My heart’s desire is that every child in our city, state, country, and beyond encounters Jesus and come to know and walk in God’s perfect plan for their life—that they will understand they were created as His masterpiece and see themselves as the beloved of the heavenly Father and seek to build a growing relationship with Him.

Aquilla Watson, Member

Patricia Wright, Member
I am married to Mickey Wright and we are members of Macedonia Baptist Church in Midland. I started out as a GNC volunteer because I care about the youth in our community and the surrounding area, and teaching them about God’s word is my priority. Becoming part of the ministry of CEF gives me that opportunity!

Pastor Neil Cawthon, Member
Neil Cawthon is a Pastor serving at the Bridge Church Midland. Being raised in broken homes and coming out of a troubled childhood he answered the call to surrender his life to his Lord and savior Jesus Christ at age 20. He then attended and graduated from the Knowing Him Bible Institute. His desire is to see people find their God given path and fulfill their purpose and destiny in Him. It is this desire that drew Him to become a committee member for CEF Midland Basin, as he saw the need and importance of reaching every child around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Neil is married to his wife Lora and they have two grown sons all currently living in Midland TX.
